WMA Summer School: 7-14 August 2026

Workers' Music Association Summer School

7-14 August 2026

Ingestre Hall Arts Centre, Ingestre Road, Stafford, ST18 0RF

Our annual, residential music Summer School offers a unique mix of courses for singers, instrumentalists and composers alike.

Founded by members of the Workers’ Music Association and inspired by its ideals and principles, the Summer School aims to bring together musicians and music lovers from all walks of life and all levels of achievement, to share and develop their musical interests and to discover and learn new ones. Everyone’s contribution is valued and every form of good live music is celebrated.

The School offers a full and varied range of courses and students are free to choose as many sessions as the timetable will allow for, making their week as intensive or as relaxed as they wish. In addition to the daytime course sessions there is a busy programme of evening activities and social events.

I will be tutoring the Wind Ensemble, where our main works will include Gordon Jacob's Old Wine in New Bottles and a special arrangement of A May Day by Ingrid Gould, and Chamber courses. I will also be giving the world premiere of David Martin's Oboe d'Amore Sonata no. 2 with Abi Hall (cello) and Tamsin Holding (piano) in the Composers' Concert.
