J. S. Bach - Cantata 11 'Lobet gott in seinen Reichen'  (Praise God in his Kingdom/Ascension Oratorio)

Choral Evensong and Cantata. Bach celebrates the Ascension with this Oratorio - his setting of the narrative in St Mark's gospel of Christ's ascenion into heaven involves a tenor Evangelist, three other soloists, a chorus and an ensemble which includes three trumpets and timpani. Bach at his festive best!
